Happy Holidays from the Curve Team - Curve Securities: Term Deposits | Bonds | Yield Curve Specialists

Dear Living Well Family,

It’s that time of year again, the decorations are up and we are feeling the cheer! But wow what a year!

While everyone is saying it, we just want to take the time to thank and congratulate you all for getting through the initial hit of  COVID-19, one of the toughest times we have seen in our lifetime at TLWS  and while  it isn’t over we feel the massive resilience built by all. Thank you for supporting TLWS in 2020 and we are excited about 2021 and beyond!

Some housekeeping to start.

We are all taking a break and the studio will close from the 24th of December to the 3rd of January.

Next year due to the educational commitments of some practitioners we will be seeing some changes in the timetables of group sessions.

If your classes are being affected we will be in contact.

If you can’t make regular sessions, don’t forget you can book online.

Our team continues to evolve.

2020 has been a big year of change. We have had new people join the team and some move to follow their dreams elsewhere. Check out some of our new (and returning) team; Chelsea, Issie, Seb and Amy.

We would like to warmly welcome Seb Tape to our team.

Seb completed his Bachelor of Exercise Science and Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University on the Gold Coast whilst balancing extensive training and sporting commitments.

Seb grew up in Adelaide, South Australia from where he was drafted to play in the inaugural Gold Coast Suns AFL team. Through years of exposure to elite training programs on a personal level and through formulating and conducting training sessions for others, Seb has vast experience in the strength and conditioning environment. Seb has developed a passion for helping people set and achieve goals and is enthusiastic and empathetic in assisting others to improve their athletic and injury status through a holistic and evidence-based approach. More Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic health sessions available

We will have more availability for Women’s Men’s and Pelvic health physiotherapy next year. Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic health physiotherapy is a very important area of physiotherapy. This specialty of physiotherapy is responsible for all things waterworks, bowel function, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, pre and post-natal rehabilitation and the treatment of mastitis. Problems of this nature can be challenging for patients due to embarrassment and shame. Be assured our clinicians Claire, Indianna, Amy and Tiele are all highly educated and approachable and strive to create a safe and comfortable environment for therapy.

Psychology for your wellbeing

Louise is opening up another day and welcoming patients.
Julie will be continuing to be available on Thursdays.

Medicare rebated sessions are available from a GP referral.

If you feel you might need some help for mental challenges do not hesitate to ask. We encourage everyone to improve their psychological health. It is as important as physical health, if not more!

Learning and upskilling 2021

Sarah and Sam are starting their sports masters at The University of Queensland in 2021. UQ is internationally renowned for being the best in sports physiotherapy education. This two-year program will have them qualified at the end of 2022.

Indianna is finishing her last subject in her double master’s degrees in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy also at UQ.

Radd is taking a giant leap and studying physiotherapy!  Yep, he’s going to be uber qualified with a chiropractic and physiotherapy degree under his belt.

Amy, our super talented massage therapist, is entering into her 3rd year of osteopathy.

Liz  continues to advise the Australian Physiotherapy Council and teach budding physios at Griffith Uni – what a  gem!

We wish them all the best with their study and are excited for all the knowledge they will share with the team and their clients.

Group Chiropractic is here!

Group chiropractic based exercise session with Radd are now available. Radd has been busy this year completing his Pilates qualification and has developed a keen interest in active exercise rehabilitation to complement his in rooms chiropractic. He is running a few sessions weekly so if you would like to join them let our reception team know.

Car parking

With the growth of our clientele and all the businesses popping up around the studio, parking has become more and more challenging.

There is still quite a bit of parking a 5 minute walk away on Kortum drive. While this seems very frustrating, it’s a good warm up for your group session and gets your steps up.

We are also finishing our group sessions with 5 minutes to go so the changeover will be easier. This also gives us time to clean and prepare the space for the next group.

Group exercise etiquette

Just a few pointers to help our sessions run smoothly.

– Please wait for the exact time of your appointment before you enter the studio space so we can ensure the space is adequately cleaned and reset.

– Please continue to bring a towel and socks (grippy if possible).

– Please be aware of the level of your voice, we have lots of talking in our studio space and at times practitioners can’t hear their clients or successfully give instruction.

– We LOOOVVVEEE communication but just be aware of the decibels especially when the studio is full.

Thank you all so much for your cooperation on this we greatly appreciate it!

Our ongoing COVID policy with making and attending appointments.

Some appointments can still be booked and done over the phone or online.

We have more hand sanitary stations around the studio now and encourage you to wash your hands-on arrival and leaving the studio. Please reschedule your appointment  at the studio if you have cold and flu like symptoms.

While we love our studio community it would be really helpful if between session socialising can be done outside to continue to prevent unnecessary contact in the foyer. Our waiting and reception area will still be limited due to social distancing so if you wish to wait outside or in your car, please let us know by stepping inside and telling the staff first so we know you have arrived. Our waiting room will be a place to pass through rather than stay for long.

When making bookings you can book online but also pay online prior to your session if you wish to limit your interaction with staff, other than your practitioner.  There may not be all of the appointments listed online so if you want an appointment outside the given times, please call the studio.

We are still able to do some of our appointments through an online (digital medium) or over the phone if you feel that this is a better option for you.

We welcome feedback!

If you have feedback for us, we encourage you to email our practice manager, Tash (tash@thelivingwellstudio.com.au) with anything you think will help improve our service or if you have any concerns.

We would love you to leave us an amazing review….

COVID-19

As per the government health guidelines on the 22nd of March 2020 non essential services will be closed. This does not include us. While we are still open for our usual services we will be practicing strict and heightened hygiene measures during this time to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

From the PM’s address today, we want to be clear we are not a gym. We are a health care practice, that provides services to optimise health and reduce pain from musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Our studio team are ensuring complete high grade sanitisation of props and equipment that will only be single person use for each session, and ensuring social distancing. The staff and studio have had no connection to the COVID-19 at this time.

As per the government health guidelines we will not allow access to our services if you answer “yes” to any of the below:

Have you been overseas in the last 14 days?
Have you been in contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
Do you have a dry cough, shortness of breath, fever or sore throat?
If answered yes to any of the above, please call the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 020 080.

We ask patients who are at risk to please let us know before your appointment so we can discuss your position. This includes immune-suppressed, the elderly and those who have been in high-risk areas. We also ask that you call the clinic if you do develop COVID-19 or have come in contact with someone who has so we can act according to the government recommendations.

For all treatments, our linen is being changed for every client and a wipe down of all equipment used. We ask that you remain in your car until your treatment time to minimise patient to patient contact in the waiting area. We also ask that you use ‘tap and go’ for your payment method rather than cash. Also we will not require you to sign your health fund slip to minimise cross use of pens between staff and patients. All our door handles and surfaces are regularly being cleaned during the day.

We ask everyone who comes in for group therapy sessions.

Bring a large towel and socks.
Keep 1.5m distance between yourself and others.
Wash your hands before and after the class.
If you need to cough or sneeze, cover your face and wash or sanitise hands immediately.
If you wish to wear gloves we have them available for you.
Online and Telehealth will be an option in the very near future….watch this space.

We are understanding of each and everyone’s individual position and we deeply care for your health and encourage everyone to take steps to keep strong and healthy at this time. Please feel free to call or email our staff to voice your concern and receive guidance. We are dedicated to informing you of our position and future movements in relation to Covid-19.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

TLWS Management team.
