Mind Body Ballet
Our Dance physios Indianna & Sarah attended a new event put on by the Queensland Ballet at HOTA on the weekend.
It was titled Mind Body Ballet, and it was an education session for students parents and practitioners with an intention of bringing wellness and balance to the world of high-level ballet training. As we all know ballet training can be very demanding and push the human mind and body to the limit.
We were really impressed that this organisation has a keen interest in maintaining the health of their dancers and budding dancers aiming to be elite.
Indi and Sarah learnt lots from all the presenters which covered, recovery for the dancer, optimal loading, strength and conditioning and managing psychological stress. Li Cunxin the artistic director spoke and we were incredibly inspired by his famous story of Mao’s last dancer and his journey from his family life as a peasant in rural communist China to a principle dancer in the west.
