Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, management, and prevention of mechanical disorders in the body. A chiropractor aims at minimising the effects these disorders have on an individual’s brain and nervous system, and overall experience of health. Although the spine is a large focus, a chiropractic is well skilled to look at other areas of the body.
Chiropractic care is aimed at removing restrictions and limitations in the body, through specialised adjusting techniques, that may create change in your physical health. This type of care may create healthy movement and alignment that maximises a person’s inbuilt potential to function with less restriction.
Techniques used include:
- Joint manipulation and adjustments
- Joint mobilisation
- Soft tissue release
- Reflex-based treatments
- Activator (instrument) method
- Craniosacral therapy
Chiropractic treatment is recommended for both pain and performance. If long-term or excessive limitation and loading has resulted in pain, a chiropractor can give relief. For people with performance goals, treatment can aid healthy and efficient movement in order to maximise your training and competitive events.
Like a dental check-up, a chiropractic assessment is recommended at least once every 4-6 weeks and more frequently for people with specific concerns or demands of their body.
Chiropractic is for all ages from newborns to over 90s, we see them all! Give chiropractic care a try if your child having problems eating, sleeping or pooing.
We as chiropractors at The Living Well Studio enjoy working as a team with other practitioners such as physiotherapists, massage therapists, and Pilates instructors to create a balanced management program. Programs include both active therapy (where you are performing the therapy) and passive therapy (where you are receiving the hands-on input from the practitioner).
Our chiropractors are happy to call if you have specific questions in regards to treatment, just let our friendly reception team know.
