Dance Physiotherapy
Our Dance Physiotherapists, Indianna and Sarah, are both passionate and experienced in treating dancers from all dance genre, levels and ages. Having had extensive experience in dance training in their youth, they are both, currently teaching dance to both adults and children. They have completed specialised courses and dedicate time to ongoing education in dance physiotherapy. Indianna and Sarah are well equipped to help any dancer in management of acute injuries, maximising performance and prevent injuries developing.
They perform full body biomechanical assessments that highlight what the dancer may need to work on for injury prevention and /or management. These assessments are also used to determine whether the dancer is ready for pointe work if that is’s their goal.
A home program or supervised program in the pilates and strength and conditioning studio is designed so the dancer can carry out to work on the identified focus areas.
The physios also liaise with dance teachers, coaches, sports doctors, psychologists and dieticians if needed to ensure we are all working toward the same goals. (photo)
Indianna and Sarah believe many of the physical challenges occurring in dance can be overcome with sound education, physical training and therapy. Read more on our website or contact us to make an appointment.
