Pilates Small Group & Private Classes

At The Living Well Studio our focus is you and your needs. We believe Pilates is beneficial for all, at any age or fitness level. We offer reformer and equipment based Pilates sessions tailored to meet your individual goals, maximise wellness and exercise based injury management.

Working with a physiotherapist or instructor trained in the Pilates method, you will experience the benefit of a highly supervised and personalised Pilates program developed following your initial assessment.

Pilates is at our core

We take Pilates seriously here at the Living Well Studio. Your Pilates experience as a Living Well Studio client is unique from other studios and gyms. We specialise in individualised, focused programs, which is why we only take a maximum of five clients per session.

Our Pilates sessions are conducted by highly trained and accredited practitioners who have tertiary qualifications in exercise physiology, physiotherapy and other relevant modalities. Before you get started

To begin Pilates with us, we require that you complete both an initial assessment (60 minutes) and at least one 1:1 session (60 minutes).

1. Assessment: You will complete an initial consultation with a physiotherapist before your first Pilates session. We use state of the art tools including live ultrasound for examining core function as well as conduct a biomechanical screening. We take the time to listen and understand your needs. This guides us to develop a program that will support you to achieve your goals as well as promote overall wellness.  

2. 1:1 Session: In your 1:1 equipment based Pilates session you will be introduced to the studio equipment, learn the principles of Pilates and move through your individualised program based on your assessment. This session also gives you the opportunity to get to know your instructor. New clients generally require a single 1:1 session, however your Physiotherapist/Instructor may recommend extra sessions to help you gain confidence with the equipment and your exercise program.

3. Regular Sessions: You can choose to continue with regular 1:1 sessions or join a small group session with a regular time slot. Attending regular individualised and structured sessions will help you reach your goals and build strength and confidence. We recommend at least one session per week to help you stay motivated. After two or three sessions you will feel your body moving well, particularly if you are recovering from an injury.

Private, semi-private or small groups

Prefer one on one focus with your instructor? Choose from one on one session or semi-private session. Or opt for affordable small group sessions which are highly supervised and have a maximum of five participants.

Pilates at home

We offer freedom and flexibility. Receive the benefits of Pilates from the comfort of your home or whilst travelling with a home program. Book in for an individual consult with your instructor so we can develop a tailored home program complete with photos of your specific exercises.

How do you measure the quality of a Pilates session?

    Your practitioner has an internationally accredited qualification

    Your practitioner has tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy or other relevant modality

    Your practitioner applies evidence-based practice

    Your practitioner engages in regular ongoing education in the Pilates or Physiotherapy field
